A Bungoma man who last weekend shocked Kenyans for clinging on to an airborne helicopter was on Wednesday, May 18 charged with endangering his life and that of the pilot.
Swaleh Wanjala, represented by lawyer Douglas Ombegi, denied the charges before Bungoma principal magistrate Stephen Mungote.
Swaleh is said to have committed the offence on May 13 at Kanduyi Posta grounds when the body of slain businessman Jacob Juma was flown to the venue for public viewing.
Mr Wanjala is also accused of negligently endangering the safety of the aircraft, forcing the pilot identified as Emmanuel Siburai to make an emergency landing.
